Having completed seven years of study in Peru, including many mountain journeys such as a pilgrimage on the Camino De Santiago, where she started her journey of the divine feminine, studying with Karen Duncan and Judy Bath, in addition to many spirit teachings, Lori was initiated as a Hampicamiyoq (medicine woman) in 2016. Lori now gratefully walks the way of a medicine woman as a Healer, Earth-Keeper, Grandmother, Teacher, Artist, Mentor, and Weaver of Life and Water.
Regarding her younger years, Lori, also an outsider artist, moved as a child from the American North, West, South, and back to the North during the 60s and 70s, soaking in the social change of the times. With her analytical, intuitive sense, Lori started creating art at a young age working with many elements—leather, wax, wood, clay, fiber, yarn, and fabric.
Later moving and exploring as an adult, Lori developed a keen sense of observation of the environment and social structures. Receiving her degree in science, she spent the 80s and 90s working in the healthcare field, developing ultrasound equipment while globetrotting. In 2006, Lori followed her soul guidance and became a full-time healer/artist bringing forth her unique blend of healing/art and fulfilling her dream of moving to South Louisiana.
Lori Henderson resides in Arnaudville, Louisiana, and opened The LightHouse at 228 Fuselier Road in 2021. The LightHouse is a space where Healing and Art unify.
